Video Game Music Compilation 38

Bum bum bum… ba sum bum bummmm. Babababaduuuuum. Recognize that theme? Most likely not. I just made it up. Just wanted to mix things up a little, you know? Anyway, the music you came here for is below. Enjoy!

Fight Theme - Banana Nababa

There's something so menacing and bold about the atmosphere this piece makes, which is perfect for the boss fights of Banana Nababa, which are all boss fights. It's fast-paced string of melodies make everything more intense. It's very catchy, but doesn't give you the time to keep up with it. It's sinister tone is highlighted by the more drawn out notes in-between faster ones. It's an excellent chip-tune theme that I honestly didn't mind listening to over and over during one fight I lost over and over.

Game Over Theme - Banana Nababa

It's a good thing this theme is catchy as all hell will allow, because you hear it a lot in this game. The chip-tune is impeccable in this piece. There are slower, more oppressive and sad parts that use longer notes and a solemn, strong melody. Then there are faster segments that use multiple layers of somewhat jazzy chip-tune to emphasize the journey up until this point. It's an interesting mix that works well. The piece emphasizes failure with the slower parts, but reminisces about the path taken to get there through the faster parts.

Tower of Babel - Rayman Legends

This triumphant theme booms with a full orchestra, complete with drums, flutes, trumpets, and everything else. Not only that, but every instrument you hear is used well. It's strong melodies are backed up plenty with other beats, and make the memorable piece all the more oddly catchy. The use of voices add well to the whole "Babel" bit of the title. The sense of epicness is strong, making the world feel bigger and more expansive. It works very well when played during the city levels of the Attack on Titan Fan-Made Game, charging up the atmosphere greatly.

Bowser World Theme - Super Mario 3D World

This jazzed up theme is so catchy it's insane. Perfectly complimenting the casino/amusement park themed world it plays in, this song makes good use of bass interments and synth rifts. The interments seem to take turns, allowing every layer to be heard. Even the guitar rifts in the background has moments to shine. Exciting, jazzy, and extravagant are the words I consistently use to describe this piece, and for good reasons. It's all of those things and more! Just listening to it for as long as I have while writing this makes my soul all the more vibrant!

A Thousand Leagues Below - Shovel Knight

I have not heard a water level theme this good in a LONG time. It's catchy and entrancing, and even majestic. The fast pace plus you along for the ride, dragging your emotions to the top of adventure in the deep sea. It's only a matter of time before you lose yourself in the current of beautifully strung together notes and melodies. It's lighthearted at times, while at other times it's mysterious yet still active. It's chip-tune is done by the one and only Jake "Virt" Kaufman, so it's really no wonder this is such an amazing piece.

Well there you go. Five amazing pieces of music from vidja games. I kinda wish I was as good at writing these as I once was, but you people come here for the music, not the words.

Aww Yeah!

I do lots of writing, but also dabble in videos.

I write about whatever I want, but it's mostly games.

Also, excellent taste in VGM.
