Aw yeah, music and video games and what not! I've found music from a whole bunch of games, and trust me when I say these are pretty good songs. For those of you who don't know, the VGMCs are video game music compilations where I show off a piece of video game music, and then give some sort of description to go with it for the sake of content. I hope you enjoy, and here you go!
Menu Music - Tag: The Power of Paint
This song is rad, making it very fitting to be the music for the main menu of this particular game. It's not too fast paced, but it's paced just perfect to represent the type of journey this game provides. Using a lot of electrical vibes and tunes, it sets a pre-tense for the entire game's atmosphere. It feels somewhat grand at times, which works well with the already grand visuals of the menu screen. It's got a strong and fluent melody that isn't very catchy, but works well in the imposing an emotion into you sense.
Kickstart - Tag: The Power of Paint
Being a bit more fast paced here, this song really does get you pumped up when playing. You could even say it kickstarts your excitement when playing. It uses mostly electronic vibes and tones, but when theres a low on that front theres a prominence in the drums. It's catchy, with you just waiting for the next time that one part come back around. It fills the entire game with life, making traversing the levels all the more epic.
Cursed Tree - Crystal Beans from Dungeon Explorer
Conveying a lot of emotions with highly catchy and intensely beautiful melodies, this piece isn't the fastest in terms of pace. It uses a lot of old sound-bits, but also has sounds like bells, flutes, and even an electronic tone layering the entire thing. Every instrument is entrancing to the point of being borderline addicting. It's so atmospheric and well composes in a way where none of the beautiful melodies ever clash, but add t each other. It's a very calm piece you'd just wanna get lost in.
Stage 2A - Rocket Knight Adventures
This piece is easily the most fast paced one on this list, and debatably the catchiest. It's very strong and bold melody works wonders when getting you pumped up and excited. It leaves your adrenaline levels at a high, allowing you to keep up with the hyper-intense piece itself. It's addicting due to the adrenaline you're left with, and the well-composed yet chaotic barrage of 16-bit chip tune sounds. It just does a great job at blasting you away with the crazy melodies that never bump into each other.
Jean Lafitte's Ship - Voodoo Vince
Emotion is something this piece has down to a science, being filled to brim with it. It provides one of the most beautifully serene pieces to ever have such a richly adventurous tone. It fits the level really well with it's New Orleans theme and masterfully crafted melodies, making it just as catchy as the other songs on this list. The wide assortment of instruments creates one of the most well-composed orchestras I've ever seen. You've got things from pianos to drums to violins that all work together oh so beautifully.
So I hope you enjoyed the variety of music I've compiled this time. I enjoyed writing it, as well as listening to such great music while writing about them.
