Puzzle Legends is a top-down puzzle game involving many mechanics, plenty of which involves pushing around blocks. It's inspired by the SNES days, yet still has a refreshingly modern flavor to it. The entire game is based around single-screen puzzles where you have to pull a lever and get to the door at the top of the screen, which can involve going through a lot of tricky things.

The game is tile-based as well, so there are no mechanical glitches and really solid gameplay. While a lot of the time the player is pushing around blocks, but there are many more mechanics to explore. You have snakes that mimics and follows your latitude or longitude(depending on the snake), tiles that allow you to walk over them once before becoming a tile you can't walk over, spike traps activated by watchful eyes, and even monsters who want nothing more than to sleep, unless offered some food. That all thrown together can great some tricky things to experiment with.

Whatever happens in the game is never because of faulty game design, but because of the player's actions in the level. Each level requires some trial and error, but this isn't so bad due to the fast-pace and short length of each level. While the game allows you to experiment with all the mechanics, it doesn't allow you to right away. It has a good difficulty curve, and does a good job at introducing new things every so often as you progress.

The aesthetics are great in this game. It really does have a sort of SNES feel, but with a much more detailed color pallet. All the sprites and animations are great, being an attractive pixelated style. The color pallet, as mentioned before, is very nice, using contrasting colors and shades very well. The music is a nice chip-tune track that, while it loops constantly, is groovy enough to make itself not as repetitive.

So yeah, an interesting puzzle game that caught my attention. I'm not personally too big on puzzle games, but Puzzle Legends is simple and in-turn easy to get the hang of, making it an easy game to just pick up and play. All the mechanics are simple but are also used to their greatest potential, making for some tricky puzzles for you to conquer. Are you even up for such a challenge?
