Hot diggity dang. This, out of all the games in this series, this is the only one to catch my eye. Thing Thing Arena 3 is a 2-D shooter platform game where you create a character, and survive an onslaught of enemies. You can shoot, double jump, and shoot as you double jump! Out of the other games, this one does it right! You'd think that Pro (the 4th installment of Arena) would be even better, but it took a turn for the worse. But thats not the game I'm reviewing, so onwards!
Lets start with the customization: AWESOME! Its decently big, with a variety of looks to choose from. They've got top-hats, masks, hairstyles, trench coats, suits, and all that jazz. While there not as much as games like Fallout, Skyrim, or even the loadout creator Innawoods, theres plenty to choose from.
Next are stages: Its ok. Theres a decent selection. Theres the laboratory, house, basement, and service tunnels and some other one. Theres three different variations of each stage, one of which is always an empty, square room. It isn't much, but they provide variety with spawning points and ammo drop offs. Now here's an idea on improving this game: custom designed levels.
Now for the meat: the weapons. AWESOME AS HECK! These guns range from dual wielding pistols, a pipe, a poison grenade shooter, a tommy gun, a revolver, a harpoon gun, two kinds of shotguns, a rail gun, and finally, my favorite, the gun that has bouncing bullets. You always start off with a pipe, single pistol(you pick up another one) and a tommy gun. You can switch out any of these guns for ones from your dead enemies. The previously mentioned ammo drop offs supply ammo for all the guns you have on you, no matter the gun. The enemies by the way, are just randomly dressed people with random guns with the same animations as you. Its fun, cornering yourself in a choke point so you can bounce your bullets off the ceiling and into the enemies skull.
This game was fun. No story, just survival. I'm not saying story is bad, I wish this had one. But for what it is, it is done right.
