The One Deadly Sin

Alright, so everyone knows of the Seven Deadly Sins, right? There's Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, Pride, Lust, and Greed. We all know if these, as they're really famous. They basically a sorting system for sins. If you sin, it'll go under one of these categories. I was thinking the other day, and I came to a realization. I realized that there is only one true Deadly Sin.

Lemme start off by telling you what each of the Deadly Sins are, and explain them a bit. First up, Wrath. Wrath is simply violence, be it harm or destruction. Second we have Gluttony. Gluttony is summed up as excessive eating, and just indulging heavily in eating. Next is Sloth, which is excessive sleeping or laziness. Then there's Envy, or wanting/coveting another person's thing/things. Pride is thinking too highly of yourself, or simply viewing yourself higher than moral standards allow. Lust is the desire for pretty much anything sexual, quite simple. Then there is Greed, which is simply put, excessive wanting of anything, be it possession or experience.

You see, all these tie together at a certain point. All of these sins are simply overly wanting a specific thing. With Wrath it's violence, with Gluttony it's food, with Sloth it's sleep or rest, with Envy it's another person's things, with Pride it's wanting yourself to view yourself/be seen higher than the moral standards, and with Greed it's simply wanting in general. Thats why Greed is the only Deadly Sin. All the other Sins are specific types of Greed. They all involve wanting something, and Greed is wanting as a concept. It's the basic, funneled-down version to all the others. All Sin involves wanting either a thing or an experience, so all Sin is a shape or form of Greed.
